The paths on the “waterways” retrace ancient paths where we find fountains. washhouses, mills that testify to the ingenuity of man and his ways of organizing the territory and its resources. The route crosses the territories of Caprino/Rubiana/Gaon/Caiar.

Start from Villa Carlotti, excellent example of noble villa of the XVII Century, rich of frescoes. From here, walking along Via Pertini (on the left side of the Villa, below the arch), you can reach a small emigrants’memorial.
Go on the “old way” to Rubiana with a small uphill. You can enter Corte D’Iseppi, with a small niche with Madonna’s picture; in the same court, you can also find a fresco on a façade, representing “Fortune in the World”. Go on until a beautiful washhouse in Rubiana di Sotto.

Go through via San Lorenzo, turn right and then, before the crossroads, turn right. Go uphill, cross the road and you’ll reach a little square with Sant’Eurosia church, where there is a headstone in memory of nazi’s roundup on 1945, January 28th.
The route continues downhill, you will find a little country road, full of olive trees and grapevines, that will lead you in 10 minutes to a very nice contrada named Gaon.
Once in Gaon, you go uphill on the left and you will reach the washhouse (2) nearby Zeni’s house. You can now turn back and you will find an other amazing fountain in Gaon centre.

deserve to be visited. Downhill until Casette, go on and on the right side you can admire another fountain, the remains of a mill, the house where Enrico Fermi (Physicist, Rome Sept. 29th 1901, Chicago Nov. 28th 1954) stayed in 1925. In a few minutes you are in Caiar, where you can admire a sundial, a fresco and a Pink Fountain (1827).

Turn back on the main street, go down, on the right you will find a fantastic fountain, held into a square enclosure, and then you arrive at Cometti’s former factory.
Turn right and after about 500 meters you are at the starting point, Villa Carlotti.
